The Premier League is the top division of English football. Twenty clubs play each other twice, once at home and once away, for 38 matches each across a season that usually runs from August to May.
A win is worth three points and a draw one. The club with the most points is champion, the leading clubs qualify for European competitions, and the bottom three are relegated to the Championship.
