Australia, 2026-27
The Sheffield Shield is Australia’s domestic first-class cricket competition, first contested in the 1892-93 season. Six state teams take part: New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria and Western Australia.
Teams play four-day matches through the Australian summer, and the top two on the table meet in the final. It is the main proving ground for Australia’s Test players.
